How to Apply for APPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2023
1. Visit the Official Website:
- Go to the official website, psc.ap.gov.in, or click the provided link.
2. Complete One-Time-Profile-Registration (OTPR):
- If you haven’t already, register for a profile using your Aadhaar details.
3. Register for Direct Recruitment:
- On the homepage, click “New Registration for Direct Recruitment.”
4. Enter Applicant Information:
- Fill in the required details:
- Aadhaar details
- Basic details (name, date of birth, etc.)
- Address information
- Educational qualifications
- Upload photo and signature
- Other relevant information
5. Review and Submit:
- Carefully review all entered information.
- Click “Submit” to proceed.
6. Generate Reference ID:
- A unique reference ID will be generated and displayed on your screen.
7. Login and Fill Application Form:
- Go to the login page and enter your credentials (username and password).
- Fill out the detailed application form.

8. Submit Application and Pay Fees:
- Review the application and confirm its accuracy.

Application Fee
The application fee must be paid after completing the online form before the application window closes. Failure to pay the fee will result in application rejection.
- General: Rs. 250 (application fee) + Rs. 80 (examination fee)
- Reserved (from states other than Andhra Pradesh except PH & Ex-servicemen): Rs. 250 (application fee) + Rs. 80 (examination fee)
- Reserved (SC, ST, BC, PH & Ex-servicemen): Rs. 80 (examination fee only)
Eligibility Criteria
Age limit
To apply for APPSC Group 1, you must be at least 18 years old on the date of online application. The upper age limit is 42 years for the general category. However, certain categories are eligible for age relaxation:
- Reserved category (SC, ST, BC): 5 years relaxation
- PH category: 10 years relaxation
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years relaxation
Therefore, if you belong to a reserved category or are PH or an ex-serviceman, you can apply for APPSC Group 1 even if you are older than 42 years.

APPSC Group 1 Selection Process 2023
1. Prelims Exam:
- Purpose: To eliminate non-serious candidates.
- Format: Objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
- Subjects: General Studies and Mental Ability.
- Scoring: Minimum qualifying marks required to proceed.
2. Mains Exam:
- Purpose: To assess merit and suitability for the positions.
- Format: Conventional essay-type questions.
- Subjects: General Studies, History, Culture, Geography, Politics, Economy of Andhra Pradesh, and other relevant topics.
- Scoring: Merit-based scoring.
3. Interview:
- Purpose: To assess personality, communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of the chosen expertise subject.
- Format: Personal interview with a panel of experts.
- Scoring: Final selection based on combined marks of all stages, including interview performance.
