The AP government launched a new scheme called Jagananna Vidya Kanuka to help government schools provide uniforms and bags to poor children.
The government will provide uniforms, a set of notebooks, textbooks, shoes and socks, a belt, and a school bag to all students from class 1 to 10 who study in government schools.
All students studying in government schools from Class 1 to 10 are eligible.

Application for Jagananna Vidya Kanuka
- Beneficiaries do not need to apply for the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka Scheme.
- All students who are admitted to a government school in AP are eligible for the scheme.
- Biometric verification of the student’s mother is mandatory before the student kit can be given.
- The student kit will be given to the student’s mother only after biometric verification is completed.
Finally the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme is beneficial for students who cannot afford to buy uniforms or other school supplies. Many students drop out of government schools due to financial constraints.
