Chandranna Bima Coverage
- Natural Death:
- Age Group: 18-50 years
- Claim Amount: ₹1 Lakh
- Accidental Death:
- Age Group: 18-70 years
- Claim Amount: ₹5 Lakh
- Permanent Disability (Full):
- Age Group: 18-70 years
- Claim Amount: ₹5 Lakh
- Partial Disability:
- Age Group: 18-70 years
- Claim Amount: Up to ₹2.5 Lakh
Benefits Under the New Chandranna Bima Scheme
Natural Death Benefit:
- Relief Amount: ₹1 lakh
- Age Group: 18 to 50 years
- Details: The government will pay ₹1 lakh directly to the nominees of beneficiaries who pass away from natural causes. This will be managed through the GV/WV & VS/WS Department.
Accidental Death/Permanent Disability Benefit:
- Relief Amount: ₹5 lakhs
- Age Group: 18 to 70 years
- Details: In case of accidental death or permanent disability, beneficiaries will receive ₹5 lakhs through an insurance company. This insurance coverage will be provided under a suitable Group Insurance Scheme selected by the government. The government will cover the total premium for the scheme.

Chandranna Bima: Who Runs It and How to Enroll
The ChandrannaBima program is overseen by two government departments in Andhra Pradesh
- Labour Department: This is the main department in charge of the program (Nodal Agency).
- GSWS Department: This department enrolls beneficiaries (Implementing Agency).
Enrollment Process
- Door-to-Door Survey: Grama/Ward volunteers will visit homes to identify eligible beneficiaries from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
- Registration Centers: All Grama/Ward Sachivalayams now act as enrollment centers for Chandranna Bima. Here, volunteers will help with beneficiary registration and claims processing.
- Data Collection: The GSWS Department, with the help of volunteers, will identify and register eligible beneficiaries. This data will be shared with the Labour Department for verification.

Choosing a Beneficiary
It’s important to choose someone to receive the benefits in case of your death. This person, called a nominee, can be your spouse, child, dependent, or legal representative. The GSWS Department will maintain your nominee details for claim processing.
Making a Claim
In case of a claim, the implementing agency will work with the insurance company to settle it. This typically involves submitting documents like:
- Claim form
- Claim-cum-discharge form
- Death certificate (if applicable)
- Age proof
- Nominee’s details (Aadhaar number and bank account)
