AP Model Schools (Andhra Pradesh Model Schools – ఆదర్శ పాఠశాల లేదా మోడల్ స్కూల్)

The Andhra Pradesh Model Schools (APMS), also known as Ādarśa Pāṭhaśāla (आदर्श पाठशाला) or Modal Schools, are a network of government-run English-medium schools established in Andhra Pradesh, India. Launched in 2013, their primary aim is to provide high-quality education facilities in educationally backward districts across the state.

Origin

The AP Model School scheme was initiated in 2013 with the original goal of establishing around 355 schools in the first phase and 400 in the second. However, due to the state bifurcation in 2014, some schools were allocated to the newly formed Telangana state. Currently, there are approximately 163 operational AP Model Schools in residual Andhra Pradesh.
