Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria at a Glance

  • Local Status: Candidates must be local residents of Andhra Pradesh as defined in Annexure-I of this Notification.

  • Age Limit:

    • Minimum Age: 18 years as of 01-05-2025.
    • Maximum Age: 50 years as of 01-05-2025. (Date of birth as recorded in the SSC certificate will be considered for age verification.)
  • Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized board.

  • Technical Skills: Candidates must possess sound computer knowledge, including proficiency in MS Office, internet usage, and typing.

  • Driving License: A valid Driving License (for Light Motor Vehicle – LMV or Heavy Motor Vehicle – HMV) is mandatory.

  • Physical Standards:

    • For Men: Minimum height of 160 cm.
    • For Women: Minimum height of 150 cm. (A relaxation of 5 cm in height is applicable to female candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (STs).)
  • Character and Antecedents: Candidates should have a satisfactory background. Their character and antecedents will be verified by the Police Department.

  • Medical Fitness: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to perform the required duties.

Preference will be given to candidates holding one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
  • Bachelor of Science in Computers (B.Sc. Computers)
  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  • Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science/Engineering (B.Tech Computers)
  • Other IT-related qualifications.

Required Documents

  • Filled-in Application Form: You need to download this from https://cid.appolice.gov.in.
  • SSC/Matriculation Certificate: Required as proof of your age.
  • Intermediate Certificate / Equivalent: Proof of your +2 level education.
  • Other Educational Certificates: Include copies of any higher education or other relevant educational qualifications you possess.
  • Residence Certificate: Proof of your place of residence.
  • Caste Certificate: Required if you belong to a specific caste category and wish to claim related benefits or reservations.
  • Driving License: A copy of your Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) license is needed.
  • Computer Certifications: Certificates showing computer proficiency from a recognized institution.
  • Passport-size Photographs: Two recent photos are required. Note that these must be duly attested, not self-attested.

🔍 Selection Process : What to Expect

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted through a multi-stage process:

  • Certificate Verification
  • Physical Measurements
  • Skill Tests in Computer Knowledge, Typing, and Driving
  1. Scrutiny of Applications: Initially, all submitted applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet the basic eligibility requirements for the position.
  2. Certificate Verification: Candidates who pass the initial scrutiny will need to present their original documents for verification. It’s crucial to bring all the required original certificates, as failing to produce any necessary document will result in disqualification.
  3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT): This stage checks if candidates meet the minimum height requirements:
    1. Male: Must be at least 160 cm tall.
    2. Female: Must be at least 150 cm tall. (There’s a relaxation for ST women, who need to be at least 145 cm tall).
    3. Candidates not meeting these height standards will be disqualified.
  4. Skill Test: Candidates who clear the PMT will undergo skill tests, which include:
    1. Computer Knowledge Test: Assessing practical skills in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), internet Browse, general computer applications, typing speed and accuracy, and drafting skills.
    2. Driving Test: A practical assessment of the candidate’s driving abilities.
