Job Description
The Anganwadi worker’s responsibilities include providing basic health care, nutrition and early education for children aged 0 to 6, and providing support to pregnant and breastfeeding women. Services provided in anganwadi centers include supplementary feeding, vaccinations, health checks and pre-school education. In addition to providing basic services, Anganwadi staff are also responsible for identifying and reporting cases of malnutrition, child labor and child abuse to local authorities. An Anganwadi Assistant works with and assists an Anganwadi worker in providing these services.
