How to Find Your Correct AP Caste Serial Number for Sachivalayam & Meeseva Forms

When applying for an Integrated Caste, Nativity, and Date of Birth Certificate at your nearest Grama / Ward Sachivalayam or through the AP Meeseva Portal, applicants are asked to fill in their community's official Serial Number (Sl. No.) along with their category.

Master Serial Number vs. Group Serial Number:
In the official Backward Classes Welfare Department master list (Rc.No.G/1044/2026), every BC community has two distinct serial numbers:
• Master Serial Number (1 to 145): Runs continuously from BC-A through BC-E. For example, Padmasali has Master Serial No. 71, and Yadava (Golla) has Master Serial No. 116.
• Group-Wise Serial Number: Restarts at 1 within each sub-group. Inside BC-B, Padmasali is Serial No. 17 (written as BC-B / 17). Inside BC-D, Yadava (Golla) is Serial No. 33 (written as BC-D / 33).

Why does the list run up to 145 when the Government states 138 Net Active Castes?
Since the original G.O.Ms.No.1793, Education Department, dated 23.09.1970 was published, seven entries were either shifted to the ST list or merged to avoid duplicate quota allocation:

  • Sl.No. 13 (BC-A): Lambada or Banjara — Deleted from BC-A and included in the ST list (vide G.O.Ms.No.149, SW, Dt. 03.05.1978).
  • Sl.No. 17 (BC-A): Nakkala — Deleted from BC-A and included in the ST list at Sl.No.33 (vide G.O.Ms.No.21, BCW, Dt. 20.06.2011).
  • Sl.No. 25 (BC-A): Yerukalas — Deleted from BC-A and included in the ST list at Sl.No.32 (vide G.O.Ms.No.21, BCW, Dt. 20.06.2011).
  • Sl.No. 72 / Group-B Sl.No. 18: Srisayana (Segidi) — Merged into Sl.No.4 of BC-B alongside Goud/Ediga/Settibalija (vide G.O.Ms.No.63, BCW, Dt. 11.12.1996).
  • Sl.No. 94 / Group-D Sl.No. 11: Kandra — Moved to Sl.No.1 of Group-A alongside Agnikula Kshatriya (vide G.O.Ms.No.9, BCW(F) Dept., Dt. 20.04.2023).
  • Sl.No. 105 / Group-D Sl.No. 22: Nelli — Deleted from BC-D while Neeli was included at Sl.No.26 of Group-B (vide G.O.Ms.No.43, BCW, Dt. 07.08.2008).
  • Sl.No. 107 / Group-D Sl.No. 24: Poosala — Deleted from Group-D and added to Group-A at Sl.No.52 (vide G.O.Ms.No.16, BCW, Dt. 19.02.2009).
